Maltese Black tomato seed
A confusing name as the fruit are a rich, lush red, not black. A staking type bought to Tasmania from Malta some years ago, it was then handed to us by a neighbour of the descendant of the Maltese gardener, and we grow it every single year. It produces terrific crops of beautifully curvaceous, large red fruit that are great fresh, and make for delicious sauces.
Sow in spring, plant into warm soil when danger of frost has passed. Short staking variety, bears heavily so provide good support. Space plants 50cm apart. 20 seeds.
