Minimum 3 tubers for planting supplied.

Summer-active, perennial, climbing plant with edible leaves, flowers and tubers. Native to South America. Best in light shade or dappled sun in well-composted, irrigated gardens or large containers. Provide support to climbing stems, which can climb up to 2m and provide lovely summer shade. Dig tubers when plant dies back in winter.

Our variety seems to only form tubers with lessening day-length so may not die back, or produce tubers in Northern latitudes.

This plant is persistent, growing from small pieces left behind after harvest, so please select planting position with this in mind.
